The Southwest Climate Science Center (SW CSC) is one of eight regional Climate Science Centers under the Department of the Interior (DOI) managed by the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center. The SW CSC is a collaborative partnership between USGS and a consortium of six academic institutions from across the region (University of Arizona, where it is based; Desert Research Institute; University of California, Davis; University of California, Los Angeles; Scripps Institute of Oceanography; University of Colorado Boulder). The Southwest region includes the states of Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah, as well as the Upper Colorado River Basin, with respect to direct and indirect effects of climate change and management on water delivery to the lower basin.

The mission of the SW CSC is to work with natural and cultural resource managers to develop and deliver scientific information and techniques to anticipate, monitor, and adapt to climate change in the southwestern United States.

A premier partner of CCASS, the SW CSC has provided critical intellectual, financial, and research support to CCASS since its inception, particularly in the areas of scenario planning, decision support, and tribal initiatives. SW CSC website: http://www.swcsc.arizona.edu/
