Fourth National Climate Assessment Released
On Friday, November 23rd, Volume II of the Fourth National Climate Assessment (or NCA4) was released. The report, titled Impacts, Risks, and Adaptation in the United States, is a product mandated by the Global Change Research Act of 1990. Volume I of NCA4, The Climate Science Special Report, was released in November 2017.
NCA4 Volume II is an authoritative assessment of climate change impacts, risks, and adaptation across the United States. This most recent version of the report contains three new national-level chapters on Air Quality; Climate Effects on U.S. International Interests; and Sector Interactions, Multiple Stressors, and Complex Systems. It also has a new regional chapter on the U.S. Caribbean.
Particularly exciting is the fact that six researchers from the University of Arizona contributed to producing this report including Dave Breshears, Heidi Brown, Jim Buizer, Gregg Garfin, Amanda Leinberger, and Diana Liverman.
