Scientists: EPA's carbon emissions proposal is scientifically wrong

In response to a new EPA ruling that states that emissions from power plants do not significantly contribute to "dangerous air pollution," the Associated Press sought out 30 scientists working in climate, health, and related fields for their take on this major change in policy. One such expert consulted on the matter and quoted in the article was head of CCASS, Kathy Jacobs, who said, "Their statement is in direct conflict with evidence that has been presented by thousands of scientists from almost 200 countries for decades." Other experts who weighed in made similarly definitive statements, such as likening the EPA's new ruling to an assertion that smoking doesn't cause lung cancer.
