Bringing Equity into Climate Change Adaptation Planning: The Case of New York

Bring your lunch and come hear Robin Leichenko, Geography Department Chair at Rutgers, speak about "Bringing Equity into Climate Change Adaptation Planning: The Case of New York” and her new book on climate and society. Coffee and cookies will be provided.

Robin is also co-Director of the Rutgers Climate Institute. Robin’s recent research explores vulnerability and resilience to climate change within coastal and inland communities in New Jersey and New York. Robin has authored or co-authored three books and more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Her 2008 book Environmental Change and Globalization: Double Exposures (co-authored with Karen O’Brien), won the Meridian Book Award from the American Association of Geographers. Her latest book, Climate and Society: Transforming the Future (2019, co-authored with Karen O’Brien), shows that climate change is both a critical challenge for society but also an opening for transformation to a more sustainable and thriving world.
